Volunteer Coordinator II-Location NC

Position:  Volunteer Coordinator II 

Location: Fayetteville NC

Reports to: SR Volunteer Coordinator

 KEY FUNCTIONS

The Volunteer Team Leader mobilizes volunteer activities for Patriot Outreach including volunteer recruitment, leadership training, training, event planning, and identifying volunteer needs and best practices.

Typical tasks are:

  • Assist in developing and strengthening volunteer programs and training for our Patriot Outreach directors and Programs. 
  • Recruit volunteers through their communities and our Patriot Outreach network.
  • Respond to daily volunteer inquiries via phone and email to ensure successful placements for individuals   and groups.
  • Facilitate contact between interested volunteers and/or Volunteer Team Leaders
  • Recruitment and development of Volunteer Team Leaders
  • Develop and conduct volunteer trainings when needed
  • Provide volunteer resources to the Patriot Outreach organizations and Programs
  • Prepare monthly email/newsletter posting of current volunteer opportunities
  • Prepare weekly bulletin announcements for volunteer activities and event updates via the Volunteer Partnership Website.
  • Conduct Volunteer Orientation classes with potential volunteers
  • Schedule and coordinate bi--‐annual volunteer fairs
  • Assist in planning and implementing seasonal and other special events (Christmas)
  • Prepare annual Volunteer Team Budgets with Team Leaders and Patriot Outreach Directors
  • Process all reimbursement requests from approved Volunteer Budgets
  • Manage relationships with volunteers, affiliate staff, or Patriot Outreach affiliates
  • Track and analyze Patriot Outreach Quantitative Impact Report (tracking volunteer hours)
  •  Update and maintain Volunteer Partnership website and publication materials

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Candidate must have extremely strong organizational and analytical abilities; the position is highly
  • administrative in nature
  •  Must be able to multi--‐task
  •  Well developed relational and leadership skills
  •  Demonstrated motivational and coaching skills
  •  Strong verbal and writing skills.
  •  Well developed problem solving skills to facilitate problem identification, generation of alternative solutions and adaptation to changing situations
  •  PC fluent including the ability to use MS Office--‐Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Website maintenance skills a
  • plus.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • 3 to 5 years in volunteer management, social program, business development, or management experience
  • Associated and Educated to the Patriot Outreach program and mission.
